WOW Brings Icy New World to Life

To keep World of Warcraft fresh after so many years on the market, Blizzard develops new expansion packs to keep players hooked. Players are always looking for new content and the patches keep them coming back for more. The latest one is called Wrath of the Lich King, and it provides players a chance to try something new and different with the game we lovingly call War Crack.

The story of this new expansion is that the Lich King Arthas plans on extinguishing life on Azeroth. He has armies of undead, and has a necromantic power that threatens to spread a plague through this icy world. It takes a certain class of hero to fight the Lich King and save the world, but Blizzard doesn’t make it easy. There are some tough battles to be fought and players will experience new things they’ve never seen before in the game.

It’s a whole new world, so players have an opportunity to explore an entirely different continent. They’ve also loaded in some interesting features including the Death Knight, who has necromantic powers. You can also level up to 80, gaining new abilities you’ve never seen before. There is a new Inscription profession where you can learn how to make spells. Epic siege warfare allows players the chance to destroy buildings blocking their path.

The game allows players to change their heroes’ looks with the character-customization options. I try hard not to be sexist, but I’m thinking they put the new hairstyles and dances in for some of the women who are as addicted the as the rest of us. Some of the deadliest creatures and bountiful treasures are promise in the new dungeons on Azeroth.

The new patch includes three brand new five-man heroic instances and new 10 and 25 instances. (The number correlates with how many players it takes to kill a certain boss.) The difficulty level on the larger instances is pretty high, and you need an incredible amount of skill of patience to see it through. This expansion pack is one that will really challenge players, even those who have been gaming for years. I expect we’ll all be addicted for years to come.
